Chutney is a condiment of Indian origin with a sweet-sour flavour, which results from the mixture of ingredients. It is made when vinegar, spices, sugar and fruit are cooked together very slowly. Chutney is usually served with curry, cold meats or even crisps (potato chips).

Beef Stroganoff has its roots in Russia. The recipe developed as the result of a St. Petersburg cooking competition in the 1890s. The recipe was prize-winning and was consequently named after the Stroganov family that the chef was working for. The recipe traditionally includes beef cubes, mushrooms, and sour cream.
